THQ have a lot to gain or loose with the upcoming Darksiders 2, which promises to be a massive game especially with the extra time given for the games development considering it was due out in June 2012.
Now two months later the game is almost upon us, literally just over two weeks away, and Vigil Games has developed content that should enchance the games longevity by adding in an arena mode called “The Crucible.”
“The Crucible” pits the players as Death to compete against waves after waves of enemies that they have recently encountered, including mine-bosses and occassionally bosses from the game. Every five waves of ever more powerful enemies the players will be asked weather they wish to continue to fight five more waves or stop and take some loot that you have earned in “The Crucible” and some of the games loot can be only gained by competing in The Crucible. THQ has said that there is 100 waves and that only the most skilled players will achieve it (Challenge Accepted).
Here is a video thanks to IGN about the mode:
On top of which, CVG has found out that Vigil Games has now added New Game + Mode.
What this now means is that players can now continue there fight as Death again with all that awesome loot that they got from the previous play through and continue to level up throughout the game.
Darksiders 2 launches on August 21st 2012.
