Gamescom 2012: Dust 514

At Gamescom at the humongous Sony area Owen and myself got our first chance to try the upcoming Dust 514.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Dust 514 is a highly ambitious title that will combine the MMO EVE Online with a Free-to-Play First Person Shooter for the Playstation 3 in a setup where the games will in fact effect both titles.

Set to release this year, Dust 514 is going to be pretty god damn big! The maps are huge and there are ranking systems and several loadouts to choose from, other than that it works almost exactly like playing games like Battlefield 3 or even Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. In fact its more like Battlefield since you can man vehicles and use them in game.

Dust 514 is certainly an interesting game, it’s going to be free-to-play and I am unsure whether its a downloadable title or a retail release, but if you like first person shooters, and love science fiction, I certainly think you will love it.
