Capcom certainly brought something to the table at this year’s Gamescom, announcing a new game and then unveiling more about their upcoming titles, one of which is this year’s highly anticipated Resident Evil 6.

They showed off some more gameplay from the campaigns of Leon S. Kennedy and Jake Muller.

However they also unveiled a Call of Duty: Elite-esque stat/data storage site that puts you in leaderboards pitting you against the world.

The site is called ResidentEvil.net and from there you can sign up to the service free of charge. The service will pull data from your game and use it to place you in leaderboards.  From there you can see how your friends have performed and you can also link your site to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and their will be a smartphone app.

Also there will be global special events where you compete against other Resident Evil 6 players.

Check out some of the images here of the service.

And then the gameplay footage for good measure.
