At Gamescom 2012, Blizzard brought three titles to the event. Firstly the recently released Diablo 3, then we had the expansion for World of Warcraft, Mists of Pandaria, and finally a game I am really interested in, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.
At the event we had two choices, either to play competitively against another opponent, or going up against AI in a skirmish game. Considering the fact that I suck at playing strategy games competitively, I opted to play against the computer.
It was annoying that the game’s campaign wasn’t there, but trying the game is something. I played the skirmish mode as the Terrans, and I was facing up against the Zerg. Graphically, I didn’t see any difference! Literally none, but that is to be expected considering the game was actually an expansion and not a sequel. The significant improvement was the new units and buildings to construct and build, granted it wasn’t very much, but it is signs of improvement, I however just want to see more of the story.
All I will say is that if you are a fan of Starcraft and have played Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty, don’t hesitate when this expansion comes out, because it will be great simply because it’s Blizzard.
Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is entering BETA stages which means that the game could only be six months away. All we have to do now is wait for Blizzard to give us a date!
