Gearbox Announces New Borderlands 2 Class DLC, Collectors Edition and Character Customization
Some more awesome news came out this weekend.
Yesterday was the last day of PAX East and some members of Gearbox held a panel where they announced that Borderlands 2 would be adding a new class called Mechromancer (see image below). This information came via Game Informer who were lucky enough to be at the panel when the news was announced. They went on to say that the Mecromancer class is yet to be developed and will be made available after the game launches via DLC, and as long as you pre-order the game you get the DLC for free. The Mechromancer class is a female who appears to be half human and half machine. She will also control a large robot called D374-TP (Deathtrap). Gearbox didn’t give an ETA or pricing for the Mechromancer for those who don’t pre-order but they hope it will be “comparable to most DLC.”
They then went on to mention a new character customization addition to the game where you can customize your characters appearance. However you won’t start with a stock assortment of gear and costumes. The player will have to earn the new wardrobe in game by playing the story or doing challenges, but if you have played the first game you will earn an exclusive head and skin.
Lastly at the panel, Gearbox announced a Collectors Edition for the game that will retail for $149.99 (£95 est.), and comes packaged in a loot box from the game which contains a Marcus bobblehead, a copy of the game and some more extras knowing Gearbox.
We will let you know more about any more details for Borderlands 2 as the news breaks.
