GRID 2 Trailer and Details

After teasing the sequel last week, Codemasters have unveiled the first trailer for the long awaited sequel to Race Driver: GRID, thats right its GRID 2.

The game is currently in production at Codemasters Racing Studios and is set to launch on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2013.

The trailer that you can see below shows off a few of the games racing locations like Chicago, USA and Paris, France.

GRID 2 will challenge players to be fast, as they race to be first and be famous as they play throughout the game.

GRID 2 has been in pre-production for the last two years and is now in full development using the latest EGO Game Technology Platform. GRID 2 will bring back all of the features made in the previous title like its high standard of damage, AI, visuals and the flashback rewind, as well as raising the bar again with new gameplay and technology whilst staying true to the series.

Here is what Clive Moody, Executive Producer had to say:

“The core design philosophy for GRID 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama – the feel and personality of the race.”

In single-player, split-screen and online, the next-generation of the EGO Game Technology Platform will power graphics, AI, handling and damage advancements that will immerse players in the racing experience like never before. Like its predecessor, GRID 2 will put the sheer thrill and adrenaline rush of the race at the heart of the experience. It’s what we call Total Race Day Immersion.”

The game will feature an expansive career mode and competitive multiplayer mode with players racing over three continents (USA, Europe and Asia), as well as going behind the wheel of handpicked automotive icons spanning over four decades as well.
