Nintendo has confirmed there IS going to be a Nintendo 3DS XL and  that at the beginning of the month the 3DS XL will be available to buy!

Thats right, people can purchase the console from next month in the UK. The system will be available on July the 28th for both us and the rest of Europe.

The XL version of the 3DS boasts a 4.88 inch screen whici is 90 per cent larger than the screen found on the current 3DS and is the largest screen ever featured on a Nintendo handheld.

On top of which the new 3DS XL will have three colours which will all be available at launch: red, silver and blue. Other improvements to the system include the battery life which shall extend play time to between 3.5 and 6.5 hours, and for DS games between six and ten hours. And finally a 4GB SD card will be included as standard.

However what is strange  is that an AC adapter will not be included as standard. Consumers can use any adaptor that is compatible with existing 3DS, DSi and DSi XL adaptors, but consumers have to buy the charger separately. And before you ask, despite being a bigger system the one feature missing is the second circle pad.

Either way if you were waiting for a new larger 3DS you will only have to wait five weeks and you can get one for yourself. Check out some of the images below.
