Rumour: Thief 4/Thi4f heading to Next-Gen Systems

Theif 4, the latest installment in the Thief franchise has been in development since 2009 since the game was announced then!

Today, OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) UK have reported that the title will likely appear next year on the Next Xbox/720/ ‘Durango’ and the Playstation 4/’Orbis’ and is expected to be a launch title.

The report has been back by CVG’s sources who claim that the report is accurate.

The title has been in development at Eidos Montreal for so long members of the team have left the production such as the games audio designer, lead level designer and several concept artists and designers.

On the job listings at Eidos Monteal they list work for a next-gen action adventure game with emphasis on “player choice” and “stealth” (sounds like Theif game to me, or possibly a new Deus Ex but I am hoping for Thief!)

If the report is true, a Thief game would certainly get me to buy the next-gen systems.
