Yesterday TellTale Game’s Steve Allison revealed that the current five episode story arc for the outstanding The Walking Dead: The Game will not be the last.
In a statement he said “Our first episodic game series based on The Walking Dead has sold nearly 1.7 million episodes to consumers in just our first 8 weeks with no signs of slowing down. We have three more episodes to go with Episode 3 targeted for August as we confirmed yesterday,” said the senior vice president of marketing.
Allison also confirmed that once the five downloadable episodes have been released, a full retail edition will be coming to North America (and hopefully other territories) not long after. He said “Following the digital release of our fifth episode we will also be coming to North American retail shortly thereafter and this will not be the last The Walking Dead game series that we do,”
Activision also revealed on friday their own Walking Dead game, developed by Terminal Reality games, creators of Kinect Star Wars and Ghostbusters: The video game. Based on the record breaking AMC TV series players will control the popular Daryl Dixon, along with his brother Merle Dixon, in a first person shooter survival game. Allison said Tell Tail were “Looking forward to seeing Terminal Reality’s game when it comes out.”
