Marvel Comics and ABC have unveiled the upcoming Avengers TV show tie-in, S.H.I.E.L.D.
The news broke when Joss Whedon had signed on to write and direct the sequel to this years Avengers Assemble (or The Avengers in the USA).
And recently ABCh ave greenlit a live-action TV series based on the peacekeeping organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. with the first details have been revealed via Joss Whedon who will co-write and is the prospective director of the shows Pilot episode. Here is what the filmmaker has said:
The storyline for the proposed series will be largely “autonomous” from the “Avengers” sequel feature. The series will revolve around the activities of the SHIELD org governing body for the superheroes featured in “Avengers.”
Joss as mention is set to direct the pilot with his brother Jed Whedon, and his wife Maurissa Tancharoen set to be writers, as well as being executive producers with Jeffrey Bell and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb.
Other than that there is no word of whether S.H.I.E.L.D. characters will appear in the TV show, so characters like Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders Maria Hill may not reprise their roles in the TV show, what it does mean though is other S.H.I.E.L.D characters from the comics could make an appearance in the TV show, although nothing else is known!
So what do you think? Because personally I think this is awesome!
