Crossday Productions and Apart Films aren’t studios that you may have heard of, but they’re gonna be screening the first footage from their feature Summer In February at Cannes in the hope that they’ll land a distributor.

The film is about artist Alfred Munnings (Dominic Cooper), Laura (Emily Browning) & Harold Knight (Shaun Dingwall) and their passionate love triangle, showcasing the beauty of Cornwall (yes, there is beauty in Cornwall).

On the press release, producers Janette Day, Pippa Cross and Jeremy Cowdrey stated:

It goes without saying that we and the whole filmmaking team behind Summer In February are incredibly passionate about it. We are thrilled with the amazing cast and especially our very hot trio of stars Dominic Cooper, Emily Browning and Dan Stevens. We cannot wait to show this first look to buyers in Cannes.

I have no doubt, with its hugely talented director and actors, this film will appeal to lovers of the original source novel across the world and those coming to the material for the first time. I am hugely excited to be a part of this.

Is this something you’re excited for too? Let us know if this is your cup o’ Cornish tea in the comments.

If I were a car, I'd be a 1978 Mini Cooper Saloon - red, with racing stripes. Why? Because I love drinking petrol and I painted two racing stripes from my nutsack to my forehead, right now, to prove my point. I'm a magician, hypnotherapist and casino poker dealer, which is because I'm an actor, and we make very little money and have to make do. Also, just a side note, "hypnotherapist" just came up with red squiggly lines on spellcheck, which shocks me because a) "hypnotherapy" doesn't and b) I consider this spellcheck as a gauge of future success in life and have found myself heartily disappointed. Ironically, this spellcheck doesn't recognise "spellcheck". This has just created a black hole on the screen on my laptop, so I'll be going now to find something to fill it.
