Update: No Justice for Affleck

Yesterday we reported Variety’s news that Ben Affleck (of Affleck and Affleck films) would want to direct himself in Warner Bros’ upcoming Justice League movie, but the news has been shut the fuck down by Deadline who insist that Ben Affleck isn’t that stupid. (He’s far stupiderer.)

Apparently Affleckson is around third on their roster after Batdude Chris Nolan (currently in production duties for Zack Snyder’s superman flick Man of Steel) and Harry Potter director David Yates (who’s interested in creating Tarzan). While they may have offered him the job – or be offering him the job as we speak – there’s no definite word that Affleck would register the interest let alone say yes outright, particularly if – as he often insists – he gets to star in the film as well.

From Deadline:

After costing himself momentum as an actor with some questionable choices likeGigli, Affleck admirably scripted a second act for himself with his writing and directing skills, and did it by taking on unexpected, thoughtful films. His reps clearly denied he would take this, and why would he want to direct a Justice League movie, unless he himself had figured out a way to make one that would compare favorably with Joss Whedon’s billion dollar Marvel smash The Avengers? I don’t see it.

Yeah well, hopefully Matt Damon gets offered it and says yes, because god damnit we need a genius janitor running Hollywood.

If I were a car, I'd be a 1978 Mini Cooper Saloon - red, with racing stripes. Why? Because I love drinking petrol and I painted two racing stripes from my nutsack to my forehead, right now, to prove my point. I'm a magician, hypnotherapist and casino poker dealer, which is because I'm an actor, and we make very little money and have to make do. Also, just a side note, "hypnotherapist" just came up with red squiggly lines on spellcheck, which shocks me because a) "hypnotherapy" doesn't and b) I consider this spellcheck as a gauge of future success in life and have found myself heartily disappointed. Ironically, this spellcheck doesn't recognise "spellcheck". This has just created a black hole on the screen on my laptop, so I'll be going now to find something to fill it.
